Donald Trump tips off that a major scandal bombshell is about to land

Like the world’s worst poker player, Donald Trump has a tell. Whenever the media is about to publish a major bombshell about one of his scandals, it asks him and his White House if he wants to comment for the story. Trump then tries to sabotage the story before it can be published. He’s just done it again. Donald Trump just posted this bizarre rant, which we don’t think is randomly timed:

“With all of the success that our Country is having, including the just released jobs numbers which are off the charts, the Fake News & totally dishonest Media concerning me and my presidency has never been worse. Many have become crazed lunatics who have given up on the TRUTH! The Fake News will knowingly lie and demean in order make the tremendous success of the Trump Administration, and me, look as bad as possible. They use non-existent sources & write stories that are total fiction. Our Country is doing so well, yet this is a sad day in America! The Fake News Media in our Country is the real Opposition Party. It is truly the Enemy of the People! We must bring honesty back to journalism and reporting!”

Alright, we get it. Donald Trump really, really doesn’t want us to believe whatever thoroughly sourced and obviously true story the mainstream media is about to publish about his scandals. The thing is, this time around, he hasn’t quite given away what the story is, or which of his countless scandals it pertains to. But based on the timing, it may not be difficult to figure out what’s going on here.

Late last week the Democrats took control of the House, but had to spend their first two days largely taking care of the procedural business that comes at the start of a new term. Now this week they’re getting down to business with subpoenas and laying the groundwork for nationally televised hearings into Donald Trump’s scandals. If the media is looking to time a major story for maximum impact, right now is the time. And now suddenly Trump is giving away that he knows (at least) one is forthcoming.
