The Supreme Court has been acting out lately in rather bizarre ways that have raised eyebrows, to put it mildly. Since the Court’s decision to do nothing regarding the Texas abortion law, it appears some of the Justices are a bit pissed at all the criticism they’re facing. Perhaps we should rename them the snowflake court?

First, we had the little handmaid. Then it was Justice Clarence Thomas. Now Justice Samuel Alito is speaking out. And Sammy-boy is not a happy camper.

Alito appears particularly peeved at the criticism of the “shadow docket.” And there has been much criticism of it. The shadow docket was used in the Court’s non-decision on the Handmaid law, and I feel — along with MANY others -there should not even be a shadow docket.

Alito, however, does not appear to agree. This is where emergency medical workers come in. In a rather bizarre comparison, Alito compared the Court’s use of the shadow docket to E.M.T.s taking care of medical patients. I think that is one of the worst comparisons ever used for anything, but that’s just me.

“You can’t expect the E.M.T.s and the emergency rooms to do the same thing that a team of physicians and nurses will do when they are handling a matter when time is not of the essence in the same way,” Alito said.

Alito also said there was not enough time for the Court to issue full opinions on some matters. Oh, dear! Alito called the criticism of the shadow docket “rank nonsense.”

Interestingly, the only Justices speaking out are the ones who non-voted in the dead of night to do nothing about this vile bill. We do not see the four Justices who voted the RIGHT way saying anything.

I believe this is because they KNOW they voted the right way. The Justices who HAVE spoken out are engaging in whining, complaints, defensive posturing, and snide remarks. All of this is highly non-professional and does reveal so much about the characters of these Justices.

So far, Brett “I love beer” Kavanaugh has not spoken out, but he is now dealing with some issues. Kavanaugh has tested positive for Covid. As for Alito? Perhaps if the Court is this overwhelmed, we should add a few Justices to help them take over such huge responsibilities.
