What a glowing and golden day 4/10/2023 was as Tennessee’s Justin Jones was voted back into the legislature. Flanked by a crowd of social justice warriors, amid songs and whoops and applause, Jones took back his rightful place.

And Republicans? They called down the thunder. Look — it’s not just been a bad few weeks for Republicans. It’s been hell on wheels. The Republicans are watching their party go up in smoke. I honestly can’t remember when things were this bad for them.

And things for Democrats are golden. This is because the country sees what the GOP is made of and where they wish to take us. All of it — racism, guns, abortion are issues that the American people care about. And the Republicans are on the wrong side of every one of them.

The expression that it’s better to “light a candle than curse the darkness.” is true. And Republicans are in darkness now. So the right and REASONABLE thing to do would be to find a way out of the opaque shadows they find themselves in.

Not happening. Instead, they’re doubling down. Texas Governor Greg Abbott wants to pardon a recently convicted murderer who shot and killed a black lives matter protester (more on that in another article.)

Idaho has come out with stricter abortion legislation.

Iowa is no longer offering the morning-after pill to rape victims. On and on, over and over, the GOP keeps digging a deeper hole for themselves.

They’d LOVE to take us back to a world where nobody except them had rights. That is not happening, republicans. Those times are long gone.

And yet it is incredible to watch this oozing, diseased political: “party” get themselves in deeper and deeper. It’s like they’re sabotaging themselves, is it not? Meanwhile, we welcome Justin Jones back to his rightful place. We KNOW we’re on the right side of history. And the American people will judge accordingly.
