It amazes me how easily people can get away with showing evil on social media. The internet is a fantastic tool in many ways, but not always. It allows the worst among us — the vipers, the misogynists, the evil — to roam the anonymous corridors of social media, freely saying and doing pretty much whatever they want.

And this story is quite sobering. The anti-abortion people are out in droves. Many of them are the same individuals who think the January 6 attack was nothing all that bad. And yet they think the leak at the Supreme Court was the “true insurrection.” And I witnessed their hate — their reckless and vile behavior firsthand.

On Twitter the other night, a certain account claimed they might know who leaked the opinion. This account then proceeded to give the details about this person, whom I won’t be naming. What should we do, some asked? Some didn’t wait for an answer — they doxed this person. I reported them.

Then there is what happened with Operation Rescue, an anti-abortion group. They also claimed to know who the leaker might be and named a different person than the one I mentioned above. This person’s picture was posted all over Twitter.

Nobody had any evidence, you understand. Still, that did not stop the vile threats that this person be punished for “fomenting an insurrection.” I tell you of these things to ask you to report them. If you see this type of evil — let someone know.

There is no reasoning with people like this. I sometimes marvel at how their minds work. Can they really set out to ruin another’s life so very quickly? Does it come that naturally to them?

It would appear so. The irony here is that there is some talk that the person who leaked might, in fact, be on the Conservative side.

If this turns out to be accurate, it will be interesting to see the the GOP attempt to backtrack to make the person into a hero, which they would surely try to do.

The battle over good and evil was never something I thought would happen to this extent in my lifetime. And yet it’s here. It is here in heartbreaking ways that will require so much work from us. I am ready. I hope you are too.
