Everyone piles on after Donald Trump has bizarre “Obama Netflix” meltdown
With his scandals getting worse, impeachment on the horizon, and his 2020 prospects looking uglier by the day, Donald Trump is falling to pieces – in every way possible. Today he tried to deflect from the U.S. military funds that he’s been diverting to his own resorts, by pointing the finger at President Obama instead. Unfortunately for Trump, no one was even entirely sure what he was talking about, and it’s instantly become the stuff of memes.
Here’s what Donald Trump posted on Twitter in defense of himself: “I am far beyond somebody paying for a hotel room for the evening, or filling up a gas tank at an airport I do not own. These Radical Left Democrats are CRAZY! Obama Netflix?”
During a different Twitter rant several hours earlier, Trump has explained that he felt President Obama’s new post-presidency deal with Netflix was somehow equivalent to Trump’s theft of military funds. That was absurd, but Trump clearly felt like he’d made his case. So when he began ranting again later, he felt he could simply shorten it to “Obama Netflix.” Predictably, that didn’t work.
The phrase “Obama Netflix” began trending atop Twitter as everyone piled on about how ridiculous it was that Donald Trump thought he could just stick those two words onto the end of a tweet and have it count for something. As Trump circles the drain, it’s almost like he isn’t trying anymore.
