Republican politicians, right wing propaganda outlets, and right wing pundits are going on and on about what a travesty it is that a Supreme Court clerk or employee leaked the draft memo revealing that the court intends to strike down Roe v. Wade. They desperately want this to be about the leak, not about what was leaked.
What these whining Republicans don’t get is that the average midterm voter isn’t going to give a damn who leaked that Supreme Court memo, or why, or whether the leak was improper. They’re only going to care about the ruling – and they’re going to vote in the millions accordingly.
So even as the Republicans try to turn this leak into some big political scandal, no one outside the Beltway is going to care. Voters are going to overwhelmingly see women’s rights as the issue of the election, and perhaps even the issue of the century – and 70% or more of voters are pro-choice.
