Nice try Donald Trump

Former conservative and tea partier Joe Walsh has joined the Democratic Party. Not a lot has changed about him—he’s still, as he says: “A border hawk, an unabashed gun rights advocate, and an unyielding defender of free speech, but I’ve opened my eyes and listened to people who don’t think like me.” Mostly, Walsh has been driven to change by Donald Trump, whom he refers to as an “ignorant, lying madman in the White House who’s using his position to only enrich himself and his fat cat friends, while middle-class folks and small business owners get screwed by his chaos.” Walsh has Trump pegged, but it’s not only Trump’s desire to line his pockets that pose a big problem. It’s his desire to be a dictator and his attempts to turn U.S. society into a fascist state.
Trump reveals his pure evil by asking: “Can’t you just shoot them?” He is, of course, referring to the protesters in LA. His people aren’t much better, as ABC News reported that Trump’s border czar claimed that he was going to arrest Gavin Newsome and LA Mayor Karen Bass. He now claims that what he said in his interview was “taken out of context.” Homan claimed that he was merely speaking that if people “cross the line,” they will be prosecuted. We already know that they will do this at the drop of the proverbial hat, as they have brought charges against Congresswoman Monica McIver. What’s so funny is how quickly Trump’s people say that the Trump administration won’t tolerate crime, apparently if anyone other than Trump is committing the crime because they tolerate Trump’s criminality just fine. Peaceful protest is not a crime in this country, and Governor Gavin Newsome requested that Trump pull back.
Newsom asked the Trump administration to rescind the deployment of California’s troops. Newsom (rightfully) believes that Trump is merely “manufacturing a crisis” and that he’s “hoping for chaos so he can justify more crackdowns, more fear, more control.” California is a state, not an arm of the federal government. As such, Newsom is its commander-in-chief, and only he can deploy California’s National Guard. State AG Rob Bonta filed a suit on this basis. Newsom proclaimed that Trump “flamed the fires and illegally acted to federalize the National Guard. The order he signed doesn’t just apply to CA. It will allow him to go into ANY state and do the same thing.” Trump is, of course, doing what he normally does, lie and obfuscate. Sunday, he posted that the protestors were little more than “paid insurrectionists.” This is rich considering that he recently pardoned the most well-known insurrectionists in our country. His ICE also claims that it arrested a “domestic abuser” and a “child rapist.” Are they illegal? Do they even exist?
It is rather ironic that while Trump wants to withdraw financial support from states, he has no qualms about interfering in their business. You can’t have it both ways. Newsom and his attorney general have LA under control and need no help from Trump the troublemaker. He has only made things worse.
