With Donald Trump failing us all in the coronavirus crisis in every way possible, it’s left to governors and mayors to take charge and try to push their states into action, by whatever tools they each have available. In the case of New York, which has become the U.S. epicenter of the coronavirus crisis, Governor Andrew Cuomo coming front and center.
Governor Cuomo is actively seeking to buy emergency medical supplies from anyone who has them, and to pay companies to manufacture them:
NY has a critical need for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including gloves, gowns and masks — as well as ventilators.
If you have or can make any of these supplies, New York is buying. Please email [email protected]

This kind of thing shouldn’t have to be done at the state level, governors don’t have the broad range of emergency legal powers that the President does. But with Donald Trump doing nothing of any use, it’s a relief to see the likes of Cuomo, Gavin Newsom, and other governors taking charge.
