Earlier today, Palmer Report noted that corrupt Senate Majority Leader Mitch Mcconnell had managed to disappear from the headlines, after having spent a couple weeks getting proverbially kicked around by just about everyone involved. No worries though, because Stacey Abrams was bringing McConnell back into the mix. Now Speaker Nancy Pelosi is dragging McConnell front and center.

Nancy Pelosi gave a speech to Democrats in Illinois today, and she made a point of explaining how she sees the rest of the current congressional term playing out: “We sent our legislation to the Senate. Moscow Mitch says that he is the Grim Reaper. Imagine describing yourself as the Grim Reaper, that he’s going to bury all this legislation. Well we have news for him. All this legislation is alive and well in the general public.” So what does this mean?

Pelosi is pointing to the fact that most of the legislation passed by the Democratic House during this term is supported by the majority of Americans. Mitch McConnell’s refusal to allow a vote on any of it is merely going to cause voters to punish McConnell’s Republican Party in the 2020 elections.

Meanwhile, the impeachment process against Donald Trump continues to move forward. The House Judiciary Committee has opened an impeachment inquiry in court. Now the House Democrats simply have to win their court battles over the evidence and testimony needed to put on convincing public impeachment hearings. Nancy Pelosi is making clear that she intends to take down not just Trump, but also Mitch McConnell and the GOP.
