Going back to last week it was clear that, while House Intel Committee Chairman Adam Schiff might not necessarily have known everything that was in the Trump whistleblower report, he knew enough about it to make a point of zeroing in on it. Sure enough, he turned out to have been right. Now Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is hinting that she knows more about it than the public does as well.

Earlier today, Nancy Pelosi said that the Trump whistleblower scandal wasn’t necessarily about Ukraine, and that she’d be making an official statement later in the day. When she did go on to make that statement later in the day, she said that Trump is “stepping into a dangerous minefield with serious repercussions,” but she didn’t even mention Ukraine. There’s got to be a reason for that.

To be clear, there’s no reason to doubt that Donald Trump offered the president of Ukraine favors in exchange for pushing the fake Biden scandal. Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani basically admitted on Twitter last night that Trump did in fact do this. This is the kind of serious felony that you never get out of prison for. So why isn’t Pelosi focusing in on it?

Logically speaking, th answer is pretty straightforward. Nancy Pelosi must know that there’s more in this whistleblower report than just the Ukraine thing, and that some of the other incidents are even uglier. She must also be expecting that the details of the additional incidents, or the entire report itself, are going to leak soon. Pelosi has been playing the long game against Trump all along, and she’s clearly aiming to take him down – whether the short attention span crowd understands that or not.
