Maybe it’s the impending start of the Paul Manafort trial. Maybe it’s the inevitable Michael Cohen plea deal. Maybe it’s the revelation that Donald Trump signed off on the Trump Tower treason meeting with the Russians. Whatever the reason, Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation has Trump in a dither right now – and for evidence of this we need look no further than Trump’s own words.
Donald Trump began the day by threatening to shut down the government and attacking the media for doing its job, which of course for Trump is simply how he likes to start the day. But then things got personal. Trump posted this bizarre, crazed, lie-filled tweet about Mueller: “There is No Collusion! The Robert Mueller Rigged Witch Hunt, headed now by 17 (increased from 13, including an Obama White House lawyer) Angry Democrats, was started by a fraudulent Dossier, paid for by Crooked Hillary and the DNC. Therefore, the Witch Hunt is an illegal Scam!”
Then, in case he didn’t get his point across, Trump posted this lie-filled followup: “Is Robert Mueller ever going to release his conflicts of interest with respect to President Trump, including the fact that we had a very nasty & contentious business relationship, I turned him down to head the FBI (one day before appointment as S.C.) & Comey is his close friend Also, why is Mueller only appointing Angry Dems, some of whom have worked for Crooked Hillary, others, including himself, have worked for Obama….And why isn’t Mueller looking at all of the criminal activity & real Russian Collusion on the Democrats side-Podesta, Dossier?”
The bottom line: as the Trump-Russia investigation closes in on Donald Trump from all sides, he’s completely losing it. His rants don’t make sense, and he’s talking like a sore loser who knows he’s already lost.
