Michael Cohen was absolutely right about Michael Carvajal
Earlier this year Michael Cohen sounded the alarm about current Board of Prisons Director Michael Carvajal, a holdover from the Trump era who was installed by Bill Barr. Cohen alleged that Carvajal and Barr conspired to retaliate against him by moving him from house arrest back to prison once they found out he was planning to publish a tell-all book about Donald Trump. At the time a judge appeared to agree, ordering that Cohen be released from prison moved back to house arrest.
Now it turns out another powerful person agrees with Michael Cohen’s take on Michael Carvajal. Senator Dick Durbin is now calling on Attorney General Merrick Garland to fire Carvajal, citing an ugly pattern of abuse on the part of Bureau of Prisons employees.
We’ll see what happens with this. This new report documenting the pattern of abuse certainly gives the DOJ cause for firing Carvajal. Meanwhile, it turns out Michael Cohen was right again – a pattern that we keep seeing play out in 2021.
