Since he lost the election, Donald Trump has become even more tepid and indecisive than ever. So at this point we won’t be shocked if he ends up changing his plans yet again at the last minute. But as things stand right now, Trump is set to bail out to Mar-a-Lago this Wednesday. The question then becomes how long he’ll remain there.

Various observers, including Michael Cohen, have predicted that at some point Trump will leave the White House for “vacation” and then simply never return, saving him the embarrassment of having to leave the White House on Joe Biden’s inauguration day. Now that Trump is apparently heading to Mar-a-Lago for the holidays, it raises the question of whether he’ll ever go back to Washington.

Trump claims he’ll be holding a rally in Georgia for the Senate runoffs in the first days of January, so it looks like he isn’t done traveling. But if he does leave the White House this Wednesday, the odds of him ever returning to it might not be any better than 50-50. As wishy washy as he’s become, even he may not be sure what he’s going to do next. We’ll see.
