This evening the lid got blown off Donald Trump’s whistleblower scandal when it was revealed that Trump tried to offer some kind of unspecified policy favors to the president of Ukraine in exchange for help in spreading a phony scandal about Joe Biden, in the hope of altering the outcome of the 2020 election. With Trump’s presidency and his freedom flashing before his eyes, he posted a late night tweet which was, well… we’re not even sure.

Here’s what Donald Trump tweeted after the news broke about the election rigging scandal that’s likely going to land him in prison: Great news. Maria Bartiromo just renewed her deal with Fox. I don’t care how much they paid her, they got a beautiful bargain. Congratulations to both!” Wait, what?

That’s right, Donald Trump’s apparent response to all of this is that he’s really glad one of his favorite Fox News hosts is going to remain on the air. Nevermind that “I don’t care how much they paid her” is a reminder of just how terrible of a dealmaker Trump is, and that “beautiful bargain” appears to be an inappropriate remark about Bartiromo’s physical appearance. The real story here is that Trump is tweeting about this instead of, you know, focusing on the fact that his life is falling to pieces tonight.

It’s not that Donald Trump is surrounded by anyone with a clue. This evening Rudy Giuliani – who initially botched the Ukraine scheme before Trump picked it up and ran head first into a wall with it – appeared on CNN and flat out confessed to his role in the scandal. Rudy is in need of immediate psychiatric care, but at least he understands that this scandal is for all the marbles. That’s opposed to Trump, who’s busy tweeting love letters to a Fox News host.
