The historically inept and corrupt Donald Trump regime has had such constant and controversial personnel turnover, it’s no longer surprising when someone resigns from the Trump White House in protest or is fired amid scandal. But it is notable when one of Trump’s key people is escorted out of the White House by security โ€“ which is what just happened.

Last night Bloomberg broke the news that Donald Trump’s White House National Security Council member Andrew Peek had been escorted out of the White House on Friday. This is a big deal because Peek is the Russia expert on the NSC, meaning he has Fiona Hill’s old job. Axios provided more details today, revealing that Peek wasn’t actually fired. Instead he was escorted out due to a “security-related investigation.”

This is noteworthy because Peek has only been on the job since November. This means it’s very likely that the security issue is related to something that happened before he was hired, which in turn would mean that the Trump White House has once again failed to properly vet one of its own key hires. Even if the investigation ends up clearing this guy, this kind of thing should have been flagged and squared away before he was hired.

Either the Trump regime had to humiliate an innocent guy by needlessly hauling him out of the White House, or the Trump regime has had a security threat working in the White House since November. Of course the Trump regime has had a confirmed security threat โ€“ Donald Trump himself โ€“ in the Oval Office for the past three years.
