As of noon on Monday, Kamala Harris is no longer the vice president of the United States – but sheโ€™s made no indication that this is the last weโ€™ll see of her. In fact, quite the opposite – as her website has very recently been updated to reflect โ€œThe Office of Kamala D. Harrisโ€ – complete with an updated biography about her career as an attorney and politician, highlighting the diplomacy work she did as vice president, and touting her longtime slogan: โ€œFor the People.โ€ Itโ€™s clear that the site will also be updated in the near future with further news and ways to connect – which suggests that she plans to be in the public eye for some time.

This is all pretty much in step with what weโ€™ve heard about her campaign staff following the end of the 2024 election. Harris does not clearly reveal if sheโ€™s going to run again in 2028 or even run for governor in her home state of California in 2026 as other pundits have speculated – and it will probably be some time before we come close to figuring out the answer to either of those questions.

What is clear, however, is that she plans to lead the fight against Donald Trump and all that he stands for in the near future and is giving the signal for us to do the same – particularly as Trump is determined to show the worst of his racist and xenophobic side early on in the game.
