JD Vance takes it on the chin
Poor MAGA — poor, poor little MAGA. For about five blissful seconds — five seconds — MAGA was starry-eyed over the new Pope. MAGA excitedly chattered that this was a win for Donald John Trump! An American Pope! Surely this was a nod of approval for Trump, right? Right? Not quite.
It seems that MAGA’s celebratory mood was interrupted by horror when they learned that the new Pope has not been a big fan of the Trump/Vance ticket, criticizing them multiple times. Pope Leo XIV strongly disagreed with Vance’s statement that people should put themselves above others and that caring about others happens only after caring for oneself and one’s family.
The new Pope responded that our love for others is not ranked. This Pope is also known to champion the poor and immigrants — exactly the people whom MAGA DESPISES. He even went so far as to criticize Trump’s meeting with the president of El Salvador and the discussion about Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
So slowly (or very, very quickly), MAGA is already beginning to sour on the new Pope. Laura Loomer, the batshit conspiracy theorist called him a “MARXIST Pope” for his support for George Floyd. It’s rather funny watching MAGA lose their minds over this. As for myself, I am glad that a good man was chosen, a man who champions the downtrodden. And there isn’t anything MAGA can do at all about it.
