I’m not impressed

Donald Trump was sworn in today, a historically dark day for our nation. How a convicted criminal and traitor, who left office four years ago in psychotic disgrace, can possibly be back in power, is not a question I want to even think about today. But I do want to say that none of what we saw today impressed me. Allow me to explain.
We saw a weak and feeble Donald Trump, who looked like death warmed over, taking the oath of office and forgetting to put his hand on the Bible. Just how deep into dementia is this guy? He’s done this before. You’d think he could do it from muscle memory. But no. The guy is so far gone he can’t even figure out how to physically function in public.
Nor was I impressed by Elon Musk’s reference to Trump as “King” while he was being sworn in. See, this is what their side wants. They want Trump to be seen as emperor, dictator, authoritarian, fascist overlord, inevitable, unstoppable. It’s why we can’t give them that. Instead we have to continually portray Trump as weak, vulnerable, incompetent, stoppable, and worth fighting against.
Also let’s remember that these people are massively incompetent. They’re about to start trying to do some truly evil things. But they’re also idiots who are going to screw it up every step of the way. It’s our job to take advantage of those mistakes, to exploit that vulnerability, and to make sure Trump is too weak to do as much damage as he and his ilk want to do. So let’s shrug off this inauguration nonsense and get to work. We’re going to fight, and we’re going to win battles. Who’s with me?
