How it all ends

Can I say it to all of us? In an interview with the Atlantic, Donald Trump stated that he “runs the country and the world.” Humbleness was never one of Trump’s virtues. I am convinced Trump has no virtues. But this statement shows so well the unending delusions of grandeur that Donald Trump has.

Does the man truly believe that he runs the world? I doubt it. I do not doubt that he’d very much like to run the world. These delusions are the stuff of true madness. No man is above the law—or should not be—and no man in America is a king.

Yet since he took office, Trump has been acting as though he is, in fact, a king. He’s tried to bully Greenland and Canada, tried to bully Panama. I said once in another article that merely being President would never be enough for Trump. In his sizzling fantasies, he stands above all mortal men. He stands high in the clouds, a blazing sun that all people fall on their knees and bow to.

Therefore, one cannot honestly be surprised at this man’s hubris when he declares that he runs the world. However Trump is no sun god. He is no god, no king, and his presidency will end much like all wanna-be dictators see their fortunes and fates played out—in failure.

I always knew that Donald Trump aspired to be seen as all-powerful. And then I knew it was over for Republicans — that they’d lost the plot bigly — the very first time a sun-gold statue was wheeled into CPAC, and Republicans fell upon it like hungry wolves.

It was then I realized that Lindsey Graham’s prophesy had come true — they (the Republicans) had got destroyed, and they damn well deserved it. Never beat witness to false kings, and never encouraged their hubris because only much evil can arise by indulging in these activities.

Now, by all rights, Republicans should denounce Trump’s comment that he runs the world. After all, he most certainly does not. Trump does not run Spain, Canada, South Africa, Asia, or ANYWHERE. He really does not even run the United States of America.

I don’t know who is running it, but I doubt it’s Donald Trump. His senility has not been talked about so much recently, but that doesn’t mean it’s gone away. On the contrary, it’s merely taking a bit of a breather. It’ll likely be back in 5,4,3.2…..

We suffer not kings; nobody in OUR country shall ever wear a crown, and nobody we elect shall ever be above all others except in their most fantastical fantasies.
