House Democrat brings articles of impeachment against Donald Trump
One of the stories to dominate the headlines on Tuesday night was the joint press conference Donald Trump gave alongside Prime Minister Netanyahu, who is basically his Middle Eastern equivalent, an indicted politician who ran for office once again to avoid prison.
We knew throughout the election that Netanyahu clearly favored Donald Trump and did as much as he could behind the scenes to ensure that his accomplice would win in November, and we also knew, despite the frequent protests and insistence of the “Free Palestine” people, that Donald Trump would be much, much worse on the issue of Gaza. What even Netanyahu did not foresee, however, was Trump going so far as to declare that he’d make the Gaza settlements a part of the US after wiping out the Palestinians who live there.
This is something that’s pretty much impossible – but that wasn’t the point. It was simply meant to make Donald Trump look like an all-powerful strongman who can do what he wants, and the media largely covered it without any efforts at pushing back. The response, however, is proving that Trump’s word is pretty much as worthless as it’s ever been. Not only has Congress pushed back on it, with a motion by Rep. Al Green to impeach him being drawn up, but Trump’s ally Saudi Arabia has also threatened to cut ties with Israel unless a Palestinian state happens.
This, in effect, would force Donald Trump to carry out President Biden’s peace plan, or disrupt trade relations with Saudi Arabia that would likely result in exorbitant fuel prices. Despite his latest attempt at looking tough, the quick response by Saudi Arabia proves that Donald Trump is weaker than ever – and this is why it’s the message we’re going to shout from now through November.
