Donald Trump’s day from hell

Donald Trump’s top White House economic adviser resigned in a cloud of controversy today, and that may not have even been among the top five things that went wrong for Trump during the course of the day. There were new cooperating witnesses that can take him down. Lawsuits from porn stars. Public meltdowns by even more of his own people. New scandals we didn’t know about, and new scandals that we didn’t even know were possible. Also, there’s some imaginary guy named “David Dennison.”

It all started when Trump posted this early morning tweet: “The new Fake News narrative is that there is CHAOS in the White House.” Immediately afterward, top White House adviser Gary Cohn abruptly announced his resignation. It was a harbinger for everything else that would go wrong for Trump during the course of the day. Trump’s close friend Roger Stone appeared on MSNBC to try to smooth over the hulking mess that longtime Trump adviser Sam Nunberg had created the day before, but Stone merely gave away that Stone is about to be arrested. Then Stormy Daniels stepped to the plate.

Daniels filed suit against Trump in court, asserting that she’s now free to discuss their affair because he violated their nondisclosure agreement. Also, she filed court documents which revealed that Trump has used the fake name David Dennison along with his already-known aliases John Miller and John Barron, among others. Somewhere in there Trump’s attorney Michael Cohen got caught conspiring to obstruct justice with Devin Nunes, Sam Nunberg decided he’s going to fully cooperate with Robert Mueller after all, and Trump had a meltdown on Twitter about the Oscars.

Oh, and Robert Mueller has gotten his hands on some kind of secret memorandum of understanding about the 2016 election between Donald Trump and Russia. Because when you’re conspiring with a foreign power to rig a presidential election, the best way not to get caught is to make sure you spell out the treasonous plot in a legal document. Did we miss anything? Probably. But at this point Donald Trump is missing the rest of his marbles.
