Hakeem Jeffries comes out swinging

Hakeem, Jefferies, Democratic minority leader in the House of Representatives, is urging all his fellow Democratic Congress people to hold town halls in the next few days and week with their constituents at home.
Constituents are said to be fearful, worried about what the future holds, and desperate to get their thoughts out into the ether. Democrats are reacting as they always have, and how Donald Trump cannot โ with compassion.
This is the right way to handle things. The resistance is back, and theyโre back, louder, prouder, and more bold than ever. We are made of strong stuff, my friends. As Aphrodite came from the Sea, as Zeus came from the sky, we come from the Earth, and what a beautiful green and fertile Earth it is, too. I know this last month since the election has been terrible in many ways, but I am optimistic about where we are as a party and where weโre going.
Hakeem Jeffries is proving to be the right choice as our House leader. Donโt forget to see if your congressperson is holding a Towne event in the next few weeks. There will be many of them all over the country from north to south from east to west.
And please remember this: the Democratic Party really is a rainbow, a wheel of blindingly beautiful color. I can remember being a small child and already knowing, at a young and tender age, that I was and would always be a Democrat.
Oh, how hungry I was! I was hungry to grow up so I could cast my first vote for a Democrat. Many of those reading this essay probably felt the same way. Many of the biggest political animals became addicted early. To us, politics did not seem like a bleak and hopeless place but a little miracle, a maple tree offering its sap as warm and sustaining political nectar.
And this energy is still here, flowing throughout our bloodstreams, making us aware not just of the world around us, but of solutions that we can implement to get this country where we need it to go. So check around to see if thereโs a town hall coming to a gathering place near you I thank Congressman Jeffries for doing this.
