Yesterday we saw GOP operative Ed Whelan make the bizarre and grotesque move of suggesting that a specific classmate of Brett Kavanaugh may have been the one who attempted to rape Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. Whelan then tried to walk the whole thing back and apologized, but not before it was revealed that Whelan was playing for Team Kavanaugh when he did it. Now it turns out Whelan somehow knew Ford’s identity before she publicly confirmed her identity.

Whelan was working with CRC Public Relations when he posted with the “mistaken identity” claim, according to Politico. That’s a big deal because CRC has been the leading force in trying to get Kavanaugh confirmed. Now comes the bombshell from the Washington Post: last Sunday, after word of Ford’s letter had become public, but before her identity had been revealed, Whelan was already poking around on Ford’s LinkedIn page. So how did he know to stalk her?

This LinkedIn visit transpired on Sunday morning. Ford had already written an op-ed for the Washington Post, which was set to be published on Sunday afternoon. The Post had just informed the White House about Ford’s identity while seeking comment for the story, as it was about to become public anyway. This leads to the obvious question of whether the White House gave Ford’s name to Whelan before it became public, so that he could start trying to dig up dirt on her.

In any case, someone had to have given Dr. Ford’s name to Ed Whelan before it became public. If the White House didn’t give it to him, who else could have? Who else, other than Kavanaugh himself, could have known? And if Kavanaugh did know who was making the accusation before her name went public, it would mean he’s guilty. In any case, Whelan’s “research” led him to falsely accuse some other random guy from Georgetown Prep of having been the one who attempted to rape Ford. Whelan has already been tied to Team Kavanaugh. If his antics can be tied to the Trump White House, this is even uglier than we thought.
