Finally, some good news

The midterms! Soon, they will be with us! It’s like a nautical journey that takes a while, but the time simply flies by, and soon—very soon—it’ll be “Anchors away” for US! It’ll be time to get started! And we have some good — no — some GREAT news in that regard!
Georgia is one state we will be defending. It’s a purple state—as brilliantly purple as can be—and Senator John Ossoff must keep his seat. Now, his goal has been made a bit easier. Republicans had been literally BEGGING Governor of Georgia Brian Kemp, who will be term-limited out, to run for the Senate against Ossoff. This was a bit worrying. Kemp is popular in Georgia, so Palmer Report has been watching this very closely.
Well – the GOP’s hopes and dreams for Kmep were dashed. On Monday, Kemp announced — no thank you! He doesn’t want to run. In a statement he explained, it simply was not the right move for him at this time. In spite of Trump’s antipathy toward Kemp, he is popular in Georgia, so this is purely good news.
Yes, the lights just went out on Kemp’s candidacy. Well — they DO have Marjorie Taylor Greene. She has not formally announced a run, but she’s been making noises about one. Only Georgians do not like her. In polls, they show Ossoff winning in a hypothetical matchup against Greene. The reason for that is not only that Ossoff is a spectacular senator., It’s that Greene is insane.
So yes, Democrats are celebrating this news, which will make it easier for Ossoff to retain his seat, which we, Democrats, will enthusiastically help him to do.
