Finally, good news for the Democrats

catastrophic for the country, with considerable chaos unleashed by this administration. Rather than win the hearts of the American public, Donald Trump did what he does best and doubled down on his recklessness, resulting in the worst 100-days approval rating since…well, eight years ago, the last time he held office.

These ratings have actually managed to hold steady since his 100-day curve, with the very likely possibility they’ll get worse as we get a full taste of the awfulness of this administration and more scandals continue to unfold.

There is a bit of good news in recent polling, however. Democrats now lead the generic ballot by six points, which is roughly where they were in 2017-2018 and they won 40 seats with a difficult gerrymander to overcome. This year, the districts have been redrawn with Democrats having more of an advantage, and the Senate map is less difficult than it was in 2018, with an offhand possibility that Dems could either win it outright or win enough seats to retake the Senate back by 2028. Back then, the Trump midterms, Democrats won on a platform of protecting healthcare, which Republicans are again looking to take away. Let’s get on board to help Democrats win in 2025 and 2026 and take back Congress.
