Even as we wait for Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report exposing Donald Trump as a traitorous criminal who conspired with Russia to rig the 2016 presidential election in his favor, the New York Times has just exposed a big piece of the puzzle that’s been playing out behind the scenes all along. The FBI probe into Trump-Russia hasn’t just been about collusion; it’s been about Trump being a willing Russian agent all along.

Yes, we all already knew that Donald Trump has been beholden to the Kremlin from the start. But it’s one thing to us to “know” it, and it’s another thing for the FBI to open a counterintelligence probe into the sitting President of the United States. Clearly the FBI had evidence that Trump wasn’t merely colluding with the Kremlin, but that he is part of the Kremlin.

This NY Times report makes clear that, in the view of the FBI, Donald Trump is every bit as much of a Russian agent as Maria Butina, Natalia Veselnitskaya, and others. Moreover, this FBI probe started more than a year and a half ago, shortly before the highly aggressive Robert Mueller was appointed, so you can imagine what he’s done with it since.

What may stand out most here is the timing of this story. Why are the Feds choosing now to leak this information to the media and the public? It feels like they’re laying the groundwork for imminently exposing the specific treason-level and espionage-level crimes that Donald Trump has committed, by first making us all aware that they’ve been tracking him on this for a year and a half. This is no longer about collusion, or Trump’s ouster. It’s about treason, and Trump is going to prison for the rest of his life.
