As the evening goes on, even more major news outlets are reporting that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is preparing to issue his final report about Donald Trump as soon as next week. The TV pundits keep referring to the probe as “winding down” as if it were the meek end of a party after most everyone has already gone home. But in reality we’re looking at something more akin to an impending earthquake.
Remember when Michael Flynn cut a plea deal against Donald Trump more than a year ago? Robert Mueller has since informed the courts that Flynn ended up being fully cooperative in every possible way. That’s fascinating, because since 2017 we’ve all been reading and uncovering one Trump-related criminal scheme after another in which Flynn was the centerpiece. If he’s given up all of this stuff to Mueller, then we’re about to learn all of it. But that’s just the start.
Michael Cohen is known to have given a ton of criminal dirt to prosecutors about not only Donald Trump, but the overall Trump Organization, which essentially consists of Trump’s family. Rick Gates gave up a ton of dirt on Trump and Russia. White House Counsel Don McGahn was reportedly cooperating with Mueller behind Trump’s back all along. Steve Bannon has reportedly given twenty hours of cooperative testimony to Mueller about everyone in the Trump regime.
Yet we the public have still seen virtually none of the fruits of this testimony and cooperation. We know it’s been enough to get some very guilty people some very lenient deals; Flynn essentially committed treason, and he might go free entirely. That trick only works when you provide evidence to take down the biggest of fish, and in this case the biggest of fish are all named Trump. If Mueller really is done next week, everything is about to come out. We’ve been waiting for this moment from the very start, and Donald Trump has been fearing it all along.
