The history books are wide open, and we are the ones creating these books for future generations to study and ponder. It is up to us to be the pioneers of such history — and keep working to create an America that all can be proud of.

Sadly, we have a few obstacles. And some of those obstacles rear their heads in the form of insurrection supporters. One of these insurrection supporters got to talking about history himself — only his musings were as bitter as the usual hate that drips from his lips. I speak of Madison Cawthorn.

Cawthorn (shouldn’t be in Congress, insurrection party, North Carolina) was attempting to wax poetic, and as with everything he does, he bungled the job quite badly. Cawthorn tweeted about the Founding Fathers of our great nation. And he said they would be horrified at what this nation would become.

Here is the ugly tweet in its entirety: “Our Founding Fathers wouldn’t recognize the America we live in today. They would be horrified and rightfully so.”

Cawthorn has a long history of doing and saying stupid things, but this tweet most definitely ranks up there as one of the stupidest.

Fortunately, the Twitter ratio Cawthorn received was so vast in its enormousness; it showed most who saw this tweet didn’t like it either. In fact, many despised it and were quick to tell the man-boy what they thought. Here are some of the best responses:

“Yeah, they would have expelled you months ago.”

“Agreed, they probably didn’t expect sitting Congress members to support sedition.”

“You represent everything they tried to protect against.”

“Self-Own there, creep.”

“You’re a meme.”

“Do you even know the meaning of “Founding Fathers?”

“Our Founders would view you as a Traitor.”

All of this was good to see. Cawthorn got a reaction, alright, just not the one he might have hoped for.
