Elise Stefanik completely jumps the shark
Knowledge is as precious to the world as the sun, moon, and stars. Seeking meaning — in this beautiful journey we call life can be enormously fulfilling. It’s as fulfilling as feeling the warm glow of the sun – of staring at the captivating glow of a full moon and gazing in awe up at a star-filled night.
But something is happening in America. It sometimes seems like the country isn’t getting smarter — more knowledgeable. Sometimes it appears the country is getting DUMBER. And undoubtedly, that is because of ignorance — and ignorant people — like Rep. Elise Stefanik.
Stefanik has ambitions. I fully expect her to challenge Kevin McCarthy for House Speaker if the GOP wins — something we CAN’T let happen. And Stefanik’s hate rhetoric has amped up lately – to the point where this writer thinks it’s gotten dangerous. Behold the ignorance of Stefanik’s tweet. Of course, she has many tweets. But this one stands out because of how frothing with hate it is:
“The White House, House Dems, & usual pedo grifters are so out of touch with the American people that rather than present ANY PLAN or urgency to address the baby formula crisis, they double down on sending pallets of formula to the southern border. Joe Biden has NO PLAN.”
What an incredibly ignorant and vile thing to say. California Rep. Eric Swalwell got it right when he responded to Elise, saying, “You know what feeds extremism? This tweet from Elise.”
How true and how tragic. Look, extremism is all around us. We all have witnessed the horror and tragedy of the Buffalo, New York shooting. Words like those from Elise make things much worse.
This does not appear to matter to her. How did we get here? Where labeling someone a “pedo” is as easy as asking a person for the time?
We must fight back and call this HATE SPEECH out. I do not think Elise is qualified to hold office. Anyone who says these things would be deemed unqualified for office and forced to resign in my dreams. But we live in a free nation, and sometimes we pay the price with hate like this. So we must call this out. We must call ALL hate speech out — until we can end it.
