Donald Trump has demented Easter morning meltdown
For a brief moment, it looked like Donald Trump might have been content to simply let Americans have their Easter morning. In fact when he tweeted “HAPPY EASTER!” this morning, there was some hope that perhaps he wouldn’t verbally vomit all over the holy day. But not long after, because he simply couldn’t help himself, Trump launched into one of his more bizarre and demented meltdowns to date, raising even more questions about his mental stability.
In Trump’s deluded racist mind, the “caravans” of nonwhite people are now coming to get you: “Border Patrol Agents are not allowed to properly do their job at the Border because of ridiculous liberal (Democrat) laws like Catch & Release. Getting more dangerous. “Caravans” coming. Republicans must go to Nuclear Option to pass tough laws NOW. NO MORE DACA DEAL!” One can only hope he was referring to “Nuclear Option” metaphorically. It got worse.
Trump then continued his rabid racist rant: “Mexico is doing very little, if not NOTHING, at stopping people from flowing into Mexico through their Southern Border, and then into the U.S. They laugh at our dumb immigration laws. They must stop the big drug and people flows, or I will stop their cash cow, NAFTA. NEED WALL!” So now Trump is threatening a trade war against Mexico, after his previous trade wars against other allies went so poorly for him and caused the stock market to tumble.
We honestly don’t know what Donald Trump’s final tweet even meant: “These big flows of people are all trying to take advantage of DACA. They want in on the act!” Immigrants want to come to America because they recognize it as an aspirational democracy. Trump and his base don’t appear to understand America at all. They certainly don’t understand the liberal tenets of Christianity. So perhaps it’s fitting that Trump spent Easter morning yelling hideously racist things, and his base spent Easter morning retweeting him.
