Donald Trump’s team is already fracturing badly – and it’s spilling over into ugly public view

Earlier this week I highlighted the fact that longtime Trump inner circle member Boris Epshteyn and Trump inner circle newcomer Elon Musk were feuding with each other so badly that it was spilling over into the media. Now it turns out they’re not the only ones in Trump world who are lashing out at each other.

JD Vance, who appears to have already been pushed out of Trump’s inner circle despite being Vice President-elect, is now feuding with a close Steve Bannon ally named Grace Chong. Chong wants to know why Vance has been missing Senate votes of late, and Vance is responding by calling Chong a “a mouth breathing imbecile.” So that’s always fun.

So here we are with Donald Trump being so deep into dementia that he doesn’t seem to know where he is most of the time, and he’s surrounded by a small team of third rate fools and mentally incompetent people and gutter trolls who are turning on each other by the day.

This of course leads to the question of who’s in charge. In other words, who’s the adult in this pack of nonfunctional people? I think the answer is no one. Trump is senile. Musk and RFK Jr are mentally incompetent. Vance understands how politics works but he’s so frustrated about being pushed out of Trump’s inner circle that he’s publicly attacking the people who have more access to Trump than he does.

The biggest thing we have going for us is that Trump and his people are massively, massively, massively inept. They have a corrupt agenda and they want to carry it out, but so far they’re too busy fighting internally for power and publicly backstabbing each other. There are no adults in the room to keep this band of fools on mission, and Trump himself looks and sounds like he’s gone full Weekend at Bernie’s. Trump and his buffoons are going to screw up, and screw up badly, and it’s our job to take advantage of that ineptitude and use it to drive Trump’s approval rating as low as possible.
