Donald Trump’s new “Not Into Golden Showers” meltdown just gave something away
No, this isn’t a repeat headline from 2017, or even 2019. This is October 2021, and Donald Trump just reportedly told a crowd of major republican donors that he’s “not into golden showers.” No really, this is coming from the Washington Post, so it’s real.
This is an obvious callback to the infamous Steele Trump-Russia dossier, much of which has since been proven, and very little of which has been disproven. The dossier’s still-debated most famous claim was that Vladimir Putin was blackmailing Trump with footage of Trump engaging in, shall we say urination fetishes, with Russian prostitutes.
But while this is old news, Donald Trump just gave something big away. He’s clearly not focused on any 2024 election scenario, or even on the current political landscape in 2021. Instead he’s receding into the past, re-litigating old and since forgotten scandals. He’s no longer even properly focused on his fantasy that he secretly won the 2020 election. Now he’s stuck in 2017.
This gives away that Trump is totally gone from the present tense, totally gone from reality. He’s not within a million miles of being some kind of 2024 candidate. He’s not even of any use to his party in 2021. Instead he’s a senile anchor dragging down the republicans even as they try to figure out how to get out from under his toxic unpopularity without upsetting his remaining base. He’s screwed and so are they.
