Donald Trump is in North Carolina speaking to small crowd and a lot of empty seats, as it becomes clear that his faux-campaign and his anti-American movement are dying out. Trump, for his part, can’t seem to make up his mind whether to bitterly accept the clear reality that he’s losing, or to accept the comforting lies that his campaign babysitters are feeding him.

For instance, Trump has spent his final rallies bitterly ranting and raving about how it’s all being stolen from him. Tonight he angrily called out his campaign manager by name, sarcastically asking if she approved of his latest feeble remark. It’s never a good sign when a candidate is already publicly sniping at the head of his campaign the night before election day.

On the other hand, Trump has also claimed tonight that Kamala Harris is only speaking to a crowd of a hundred people in Pennsylvania, that she’s pulled out of North Carolina, that her campaign is out of money, and that experts have only given her a 4% chance of winning. None of these things are even close to being true, obviously. But you can tell that Trump’s babysitters have been feeding him these comforting lies to try to keep him pacified down the stretch. That way when he loses, he’ll blame conspiracy theories instead of blaming his own people – and just maybe they won’t get stiffed.

In any case, it’s more clear than ever that Donald Trump has given up – not only on this election but also seemingly on life. He knows there’s nothing for him once he loses, except humiliation and criminal trials and prison.
