Donald Trump’s dim bulb is fading

As described by writer John Bowden (The Independent), Donald Trump’s latest rally was “the portrait of a fading spectacle.” Unfortunately for Donald Trump, his entire campaign is a fading spectacle. Trump’s schtick has grown increasingly tiresome. He’s still not talking about what he plans so that people will be incentivized to vote for him. All he does is rant, rave, whine, and threaten. He needs to return to the Trump tower boardroom where that worked for him on the Apprentice. It’s certainly not working in the real world.

The rally that Bowden attended was supposed to be a “get out the vote” function including students at East Carolina University. For the students, it was more of a “get out of class” event. The students verified to the Independent that their classes were cancelled to allow them to attend, but not even half of them bothered. Those who did attend left early. In fact, after speaking to some of the students who were present, they said they were encouraged to go and fill the seats at Trump’s rally. Bowden said it was exactly as Kamala Harris described during the debate. In less than an hour, the students began streaming out of the event. Trump spoke for another 45 minutes even though people were leaving in droves. Trump probably likes hearing himself talk, so it was fine with him. The funniest thing Bowden described was a huge outdoor screen, set up for the overflow, but it spoke to silence because there was no overflow. The poor students looked bored to tears with Trump ranting about “murderous hordes of migrants.” Bowden said that even the oldsters who came to see Trump were bored and barely even stopped to see the vendor who was hawking “Say No to the Hoe” t-shirts. This shows just how classless these people are, and that’s why they like Trump. He has absolutely no class.

At another Rally, Rolling Stone reported that Trump made a call for the country to “go back to 1798.” As he usually does, Trump complained about immigrants (even though he’s married to one) and promised to invoke the Alien Enemies Act, which would allow him to round up and deport people from countries he perceives as “in a state of war against” the U.S. without having to follow due process. This is the law Roosevelt used to create internment camps for Japanese, German, and Italians. Trumped talked of “liberating” the country. The only thing Trump is interested in liberating is himself from all the charges now pending against him.

Donald Trump has nothing useful to say or do for anyone other than himself. In fact, according to Fortune, Trump’s tax plan includes a one-third cut of social security benefits. He’s never worked and been forced to pay into this plan, so, of course, it’s nothing to him. Hopefully, Kamala Harris has a plan for social security, as Fortune also said it will be insolvent in nine years. These are the types of problems that need fixing, not stroking the ego of an overgrown child who is the intellectual equivalent of a 5-year-old.
