Donald Trump the anti-Christian

Although many evangelical preachers seem to regard Trump as ordained by Christ to be our nationโs leader, his actions and words prove otherwise. Two specific events in the first days of his administration are illustrative.
As the first act of his new term Trump declined to place his hand on a Bible to take the presidential oath. It is not Constitutionally or legally required for an incoming President to swear on a Bible, but It has been a long-standing American tradition since George Washington took the oath. Trumpโs deliberate omission shows his deep-seated distain for and perhaps fear of religion. When itโs convenient to justify jailing protestors and promoting his objectives, Trump will prominently hide behind the Bible in public. But when it comes down to swearing an oath in front of God and the world, Trump is afraid to come near a Bible.
On the second day of Trumpโs term of office he heard a heartfelt plea by an Episcopal bishop in the course of a prayer service to show compassion and mercy for the marginalized and underprivileged, and the immigrants and minorities that are living in fear and relying on Trump for their safety. Trump’s response was an abhorrent social media post lambasting the bishop and everything she stood for, which apparently includes the teachings and principles of Christ.
Trump certainly is not the antichrist, because he is too stupid to be that diabolical, but he definitely is anti-Christian. The evangelical bible thumpers and their followers that support Trump are, in the words of Jesus in Matthew 15:14, blind guides that lead the blind into a pit.
