Donald Trump just made a giant mistake

Perhaps what happened was inevitable. Perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised. After all, all signs were pointing to it. So perhaps the American people should have expected the cries of the lonely hunter who, being that he hunts lawlessness on a regular, if not daily, basis, became unglued when he did not find what he was looking for.

“Radical left sleazebags.” A cry in the night has gone forth from the lurching orange mess who is supposed to be running the country. Donald Trump is quite furious at the Supreme Court. As Palmer Report told you, Trump’s lawyer did not exactly hit it out of the park the other day in court. When Justice Kavanaugh asked how stripping birthright citizenship from babies would work, his response was a brilliant “I don’t know.”

So yes, it wasn’t a good day for the Trump legal team, and Trump knows it. So he did the only thing angry little children know how to do – he raged about it. He also appeared to threaten the court subtly. Trump, on Truth-social accused radical left sleazebags of: “playing the ref” about the extreme court — whatever that means.

Trump, saying he hopes the Supreme Court does not fall for it, warned ominously that “people are with us in bigger numbers than ever before.” “Felon threatens SCOTUS Justices in Birthright rant” blared the headline. If you first don’t succeed, melt down and make threats. That is Trump’s modus operandi.

Trump better be careful. He isn’t going to get his way by lies and threats. As to this particular court case, there is no peeling back of the 14th Amendment. Sorry, Charlie. It isn’t happening, and you, Trump, are somehow going to have to deal with that.

We would not have an America without this amendment. Citizenship defines this country; it’s our lifeblood. I remember with pride, my grandmother coming over here by boat to Ellis Island long ago. She was alone and scared, but the people made her feel welcome. There were so many like my Grandmother, so many strangers arriving in strange lands that, after a while, did not feel so strange because we were all about all-inclusivity and joy.

These stories of America at its most bright and shining, at its most pure, represent how our country is supposed to be. Trump represents just about everything wrong with our country. Had HE been in charge when these people came here, I’ve no doubt the laughing and carefree beauty would have been replaced by a squat and dour man (Trump) who’d have ordered the boats to go back where they came from—at once!

Back to Donald Trump—he is making a giant mistake by issuing vague and ridiculous threats and allowing his paranoia to manifest itself in bizarre ways that make him look like the asshole he is. The Birthright argument was always doomed to fail, and the only one who didn’t know it was Donald J. Trump.
