Donald Trump just lost the California National Guard
When Donald Trump ordered the California National Guard to invade Los Angeles over the objections of California Governor Gavin Newsom, it was pretty transparently a desperation move. Trump is desperately trying to change the narrative away from his sinking regime. But now it turns out Trump couldn’t even get that right.
This evening a federal judge has ordered Trump to return control of the California National Guard to Gavin Newsom as of noon tomorrow. Trump can try to ignore this ruling if he wants, but it’s difficult to imagine the California National Guard being willing to break the law by remaining aligned with Trump.
We’ll see what happens with this ruling on appeal. But for now, even as the court of public opinion has decided that Trump’s invasion of Los Angeles is idiotic, the actual court system has decided that it’s illegal. Trump just keeps losing on all fronts, because that’s what he is – a loser.
