Donald Trump just lost
Judges are making MAGA miserable. They are blocking Trump’s executive orders left and right, and to make matters worse, a lawsuit against DOGE has been assigned to Judge Tanya Chutkan. The MAGA contingent is up in arms, but they have no right to be. Federal judges are assigned to cases on a rotating basis. This helps to keep their work loads even, and it ensures that litigants cannot “judge shop.” For this lawsuit, it’s just the proverbial luck of the draw that they got Judge Chutkan. Chutkan is a no-nonsense judge who gets the job done efficiently. She is not a “rogue judge” as the MAGA contingent calls her, nor has she taken any bribes as they claim. They may not like her rulings, but those rulings are based solely on the law and not on some misplaced sense of loyalty. From most sane people’s view, that makes her a good judge. These idiots have no clue what judges must know to do their jobs, nor do they care. If it’s something “against” Trump, they go crazy.
Franky, it is surprising MAGAs have not yet struck out at the federal judges who are blocking Trump’s funds freezing activities. U.S. District Judge Amir Ali joined with the other judges who have blocked Trump’s harmful actions. In this instance, Judge Ali blocked Trump’s freeze on foreign aid. In his order, Judge Ali wrote that the 90-day blanket freeze was an illegal overreach of power. He further advised that Trump’s administration failed to consider the “extraordinary harm” they caused by halting foreign aid. No, they didn’t fail to consider; they didn’t care. Trump is under the mistaken impression that he can just do whatever he wants with no input from Congress, which body controls federal funds, and he doesn’t want judges telling him he’s wrong. That’s too bad because he is wrong.
Judge Ali was clear that the Trump administration’s actions were wrong. In his order, he wrote: “At least to date, Defendants have not offered any explanation for why a blanket suspension of all congressionally appropriated foreign aid, which set off a shock wave and upended reliance interests for thousands of agreements with businesses, nonprofits, and organizations around the country, was a rational precursor to reviewing programs. Absent temporary injunctive relief, therefore, the scale of the enormous harm that has already occurred will almost certainly increase.” Judge Ali found the Trump administration’s actions “arbitrary and capricious.”
Nothing that Donald Trump has done to date makes any sense, nor do any of his actions move this country in a better direction. In fact, it’s moving in an impossibly wrong direction. He will continue to do things to harm the very people who elected him to office, and the rest of us are collateral damage. It is as if he’s in office to make everyone suffer. Honestly, who knows what’s inside that thing he calls a brain or is Musk driving the bus? Hopefully, after the proverbial smoke clears from this “presidency” there will be something left to save.
