This week the Supreme Court refused to curtail mail-in voting in North Carolina, and twice refused to curtail mail-in voting in Pennsylvania. This doesn’t mean the Supreme Court can necessarily be trusted, but it does mean that thus far Donald Trump isn’t getting his way.
Trump posted this tweet in frustration today: “A 3 day extension for Pennsylvania is a disaster for our Nation, and for Pennsylvania itself. The Democrats are trying to steal this Election. We have to get out and VOTE in even larger numbers. The Great Red Wave is coming!!!”
Donald Trump is giving something away here: he doesn’t think he’s going to win Pennsylvania. If he expected to win there, he wouldn’t be so upset about everyone’s votes being counted. This confirms that whatever bravado he may be publicly displaying, his internal polls are about as ugly as the public polls, and he’s worried about the outcome.
This means we have to double down on driving voter turnout in key states these final few days, in order to make sure that Joe Biden wins by such a large margin, no amount of Trump antics will make a difference in the outcome.
