Donald Trump just caved again
There are two constants when it comes to how Donald Trump operates in politics. One is that he always tries to get away with everything he can, no matter how illegal or sadistic. The other is that once his antics are met with sufficient pushback, he always caves like a coward. Now it’s happened again.
Yesterday Trump quietly caved on his own tariffs against China, putting a “pause” on low value packages coming from China into the United States. Trump is saying it’s a customs issue, but we all know what’s going on here. Trump faced pushback and so he caved to China. Just like he “paused” his tariffs against Canada and Mexico, after those nations agreed to give him so-called “concessions” that were already in place.
It’s important to remember that for all the big swings Trump is loudly taking right now, he’s also quickly and quietly caving on a number of those swings. This is how we win. We keep forcing him to cave on one front after another, thus dramatically slowing down his evil agenda until he’s too weak politically to be able to do anything.
