Donald Trump is digging himself an even deeper hole today

After his historically bad debate performance last night, you’d think Donald Trump would either be lying low today or trying to do damage control. Instead he’s out there actively making things even worse for himself. He’s now threatening to take ABC off the air in retaliation for how its moderators handled the debate – a threat that’s both hollow in nature and inviting of scorn.

Meanwhile Trump’s running mate JD Vance (at least we think he’s still the running mate after Trump claimed last night that the two don’t even talk) decided it would be a good idea to pick a fight with Taylor Swift. Because if recent history has shown us anything, it’s always a good idea to be on the wrong side of the Swifties.

If you were Donald Trump or one of his people, you’d be melting down today too. The debate was Trump’s last best chance to turn things around in this election, and he blew it so badly that Kamala Harris will probably open a bigger lead now. No wonder Trump and Vance are out there digging themselves an even deeper hole. They’re in deep and they know it.
