Donald Trump is a complete imbecile
Well, well, well. What a surprise. Maricopa County’s audit is finished, and it did not turn out the way Donald Trump hoped. Some of the media received advanced copies, and Donald Trump had some choice words for them Mediaite reported. In his usual unoriginal way, Trump claimed the “fake news media” confirmed that he lost Arizona. He claimed the reports were “trying to call” the election “before actually looking at the facts.” Trump further claimed that the audit “has uncovered significant and undeniable evidence of FRAUD!” The man is an imbecile. The results of the audit produced no such thing.
As Politico pointed out, Arizona is one of the areas upon which Trump based his lie about the 2020 election. That lie was shown once again that it is just that: A lie. The review concluded with Joe Biden winning Maricopa County by 45,000 votes. Not only did Biden win Arizona County, but he won it by more than originally thought. Politico quoted Jack Sellers, Republican Board chair following the count: “This means the tabulation equipment counted the ballots as they were designed to do, and the results reflected the will of the voters. That should be the end of the story.” We know that it will not be. Trump will continue to whine and complain that he won the election regardless of the evidence. Truth has never been on his side, but that never stopped him and his band of loonies from continuing to claim the election was “stolen” from him. Instead, as Daily Beast headlined, he is an even bigger loser than previously thought. Most importantly, however, this audit revealed no evidence of fraud, but Republicans cannot want to admit that. They much prefer denial.
Arizona Senate President Karen Fann responded to the lack of evidence of fraud with: “What you have not seen and not heard is about the statutes that were broken.” Just like Trump, they will keep the charade going regardless of the truth. Republicans do, after all, live in an alternate reality. The worst part of this failure to face reality is that Republicans continue to try to support the big lie. Daily Beast reported that Texas is moving forward with recounts in four counties—all Democratic leaning. Trump would not have won those areas anyway, but again, the truth does not and will not stop Republicans. In fact, Daily Beast reported that Republicans have called for additional ballot audits. This makes no sense whatsoever, but Republicans refuse to stop supporting this lie. Daily Beast also posted the tweet of one of the lawyers involved in various challenges to the 2020 election. He claimed that the audit “was never going to give us definitive conclusion.” Then, why did they do it? They just dislike the outcome.
Republicans are perpetrators of fraud, and it is a fraud upon the American people. The only way to stop them is to unseat them. Every Republican governor and secretary of state needs to be removed from office during their next election cycles. If more people would stand up to this lunacy, it would stop being an issue.
