When most of Donald Trump’s endorsed candidates in Georgia lost their Republican primary races in blowouts last week, Trump’s only “win” in the state was when his candidate Herschel Walker won a Senate primary contest that he was going to win based on name recognition whether Trump had gotten involved or not.
This has left an embarrassed Trump trying to save face by any means possible, so he’s done an over the top job of trying to take credit for Herschel Walker’s win. Trump is going even further than that, insisting that he was the one who talked Walker into running in the first place.
There’s just one problem with that: Walker has spent this campaign season coming across as an unstable loon, and now he’s turning against Trump. Walker is now doing interviews just so he can dispute Trump’s claim about having convinced Walker to run.
In other words, Walker – who’s so far gone mentally that his handlers have kept him out of the primary debates and tried to keep him away from the media as much as possible – is now using his limited media availability to talk about how pissed off he is at Trump. And this is the one Trump-endorsed candidate in Georgia who didn’t lose in humiliating fashion.
