Donald Trump just had a meltdown about someone’s grandmother that’s deranged even for him
Donald Trump is having a bad day. We know this because he keeps telling us as much. Instead of trying to do the job for which he was (not) elected, or trying to find a way to make himself less unpopular, Trump is busy tweeting idiotic, juvenile, semi-coherent, deranged smack talk. Yes, that’s nothing new. But this time around it just might be his lowest low to date.
Trump convinced Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to prohibit Democratic Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar from visiting Israel, even though they’re elected representatives of the United States federal government. Trump then did an idiotic victory dance about it yesterday. Overnight, Netanyahu realized he’d gone too far, so he relented and invited Tlaib to visit her grandmother in Israel. But by that time the damage was done, and Tlaib refused.
So this evening, Trump posted this tweet: “Israel was very respectful & nice to Rep. Rashida Tlaib, allowing her permission to visit her “grandmother.” As soon as she was granted permission, she grandstanded & loudly proclaimed she would not visit Israel. Could this possibly have been a setup? Israel acted appropriately!” To be clear, Trump is the one who arranged a setup. But then he made it even worse.
Donald Trump tweeted this: “The only real winner here is Tlaib’s grandmother. She doesn’t have to see her now!” That’s right, Trump is now insisting that a Congresswoman’s grandmother doesn’t like her. Then he implied that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez must be jealous because Tlaib and Omar are getting more attention. Trump is a truly sick individual requiring immediate intervention. We need the 25th Amendment, and he needs to be locked away under psychiatric care.
