Donald Trump has bonkers meltdown over protesters
House Republicans can’t hold town halls without facing angry protesters who are demanding to know why Donald Trump is allowing Elon Musk to eliminate their jobs and damage the economy. Given how right wing some of these House districts are, it’s clear that many or most of these protesters are conservative Republicans who voted for Trump. It shows just how badly Trump is blowing it with his own people.
Of course House Republicans don’t want to admit that this is happening, so they’re laughably claiming that these protesters are paid operatives for the Democratic Party. Now Trump is parroting this punchline, posting this on social media: “Paid “troublemakers” are attending Republican Town Hall Meetings. It is all part of the game for the Democrats, but just like our big LANDSLIDE ELECTION, it’s not going to work for them!”
The sad part is that Donald Trump is so narcissistic and so dementia riddled, he probably actually believes this. But Trump’s delusions aside, he and the GOP have a real problem here. The dumbest thing Trump and the GOP could do is to immediately screw over the blue collar people who just voted for them. If you lose the support of your base, you have no political power at all. Yet that’s exactly what’s happening. And instead of trying to rectify their problem, they’re just trying to spin it.
