We knew trouble was brewing internally for the Trump regime when Elon Musk demanded that all federal government employees respond to his email or get fired, and the Trump-appointed heads of five agencies told their employees to ignore Musk’s email โ€“ prompting Musk to backtrack and claim the email was “voluntary.” We were waiting for the other shoe to drop, and now it has.

The media reported earlier this week that behind the scenes, Elon Musk and Trump’s Secretary of State Marco Rubio were going at it during a recent cabinet meeting. It got ugly enough that Musk ended up telling Rubio he’s only “good on TV.” It’s true that Rubio is a dummy who can barely recite his rehearsed lines correctly. But Musk keeps proving that he simply can’t get along with anyone.

Now that the internal squabbling within the Trump regime is spilling over into public view, Donald Trump is doing what he always does: frantically yelling about it in a way that resolves nothing and unwittingly gives away what’s really going on.

Trump posted this on social media: “ELON AND MARCO HAVE A GREAT RELATIONSHIP. ANY STATEMENT OTHER THAN THAT IS FAKE NEWS!!!” In other words, Elon and Marco have a terrible relationship, Trump doesn’t know how to manage either of them, and Trump is desperate to make everyone believe that the problem doesn’t exist.

Internal squabbling is perhaps the least of Trump’s worries, given that the economy is tanking, US relations with the world are tanking, and and increasing number of Americans firmly blame him for all of it. But we’re only six weeks into this and Trump’s top handpicked people are already at each other’s throat. That’s a bad omen for Trump.
