Donald Trump goes berserk about the flood he created in California

The real story of the Los Angeles fires is that Mayor Karen Bass and Governor Gavin Newsom did a great job of managing the crisis, while Donald Trump yelled stupid things on social media. The fires have been out since last week, but today Trump tried to claim that he somehow magically put out the fires.

Trump posted this: “The water is flowing in California. These once empty โ€œhalfpipesโ€ are now brimming with beautiful, clean water, and heading to farmers throughout the State, and to Los Angeles. Too bad they refused to do this during my First Term – There would have been no fires!”

As one might expect, not a single word of Trump’s claim is true. What actually happened is that a senile Trump ordered the military to go into northern California and start draining a reservoir for no apparent reason, prompting local farmers to demand that it be stopped because it was flooding their fields. None of the water came within a hundred miles of Los Angeles, nor could it. But Trump was senile enough to demand this nonsense happen, and so it happened.

When I point out that Trump has advanced dementia, that’s not necessarily a good thing. It means he’s going to defeat himself often, and it gives us an angle we can use against him. But it also means that when he orders something as mentally incompetent as draining a reservoir hundreds of miles away from the fire, people are going to follow orders and do it. Our job is to make sure everyone out there knows just how senile his orders are, so the right people will be more inclined to disobey his gibberish.
