Donald Trump clearly isn’t playing with a full deck when it comes to his routinely sociopathic and increasingly psychotic rhetoric. But Trump isn’t playing with a full deck when it comes to his cognitive competence either. He and his staff are also notoriously sloppy and incompetent. But tonight Trump and/or his handlers managed to botch things on a level that was unusual even for them.

Trump posted this tweet tonight: “@Troy_Balderson is doing a great job as Congressman from Ohio. We need him in D.C. Vote for Troy – He has my total Endorsement!” That would be standard fare, except it was his second attempt at the endorsement. Trump’s first tweet tagged the @troybalderson account instead, which belongs to some random guy in British Columbia, Canada who has 118 followers. Trump ended up deleting the first attempt, but not before a huge number of responses were sent to the guy in Canada.

Frankly, considering the abhorrent record of GOP Congressman Troy Balderson, we suspect the “Troy Balderson” in Canada would do a better job. But if you’re looking for someone to support in this race who’s actually running in it, you might want to take a look at Democratic candidate Danny O’Connor. He’s just two points behind in the latest polling averages, putting him within the margin of error. You can find O’Connor’s Twitter account here.
