We’re still stuck with Donald Trump in office for another 48 days or so, but he’s rapidly becoming less relevant. The nation and the world are moving on without his input. Even Republican leaders are increasingly not taking his calls. Now he’s making all kinds of threats, yet everyone is just laughing at him.
Trump posted this tweet late on Thursday night: “Very sadly for our Nation, it looks like Senator Jim Inhofe will not be putting the Section 230 termination clause into the Defense Bill. So bad for our National Security and Election Integrity. Last chance to ever get it done. I will VETO!”
To be clear, Inhofe is a Republican. He and others have simply decided that they’re not willing to slip an anti-Twitter provision into the U.S. military budget, because they don’t want the humiliation. Trump can threaten to veto all he wants, but if he really does veto the military budget, it’ll only serve to further erode what little standing he has left – and Congress will override his veto anyway.
