“An absolute moron”
“Congratulations America! You have elected an absolute moron!” If we wanted to know what other countries think about us, look no further than the words above. “They’re laughing at us.” Indeed they are. This all came about after Trump’s absurd executive order withdrawing us form the world heath organization.
Many other countries appear puzzled, befuddled if you will, and deeply amazed at how low we’ve fallen. They also seem amazed that our country contains so many dipshits. It doesn’t feel good to be laughed at . We used to be looked upon with admiration. I’d like that feeling back. There was a time when we were the pride and joy of the world. Those days are gone for now
WHY? That is a question that comes up like a damp and ugly smudge on an academic exam: why why why why why?
I think there’s something to be said for the exam comparison. Our election really was an exam, a test. It was an academic exam, featuring subject matters such as political savvy, critical, thinking, and humanity. We flunked. Badly.
Perhaps we would not have, if schools offered critical thinking as an elective. Perhaps we would not have had the media done its job. Perhaps we would not have, had people gone to the polls in huge numbers. None of that happened.
We the land of freedom and Statue of Liberty, flunked the exam. How far we have fallen in the eyes of our peers, but we will get it back.
We will once again gain respect, and their admiration will glow as brightly as the highest sweeping mountain peak. It’ll take a while, but we will do it as we’ve always picked up the pieces so we will once again
